The Ramsay Reid Scholarships, awarded on an annual basis by the Library Board of Victoria, have been presented for 2006.
Anna Boland from Hume Global Learning Centre Library Service will be going to the western states of the USA to study public library literacy programs. I (Michelle) won the other scholarship (I’m from Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation). I will be going to the east coast of the USA to study innovative ways that select libraries are serving their communities through the internet and also to attend and present at the Computers in Libraries 2007 conference in Arlington, Virginia.
It is on this last point that I need your help, o good kind readers. My paper will be on “Library 2.0 and libraries building community initiatives currently happening in Australia”. I already have in mind the following:
- Libraries building community initiatives in Victorian public libraries
- National Library partnership with Flickr
- LINT
- SWIFT - consortia library system project in Victoria
- GULLIVER - consortia database purchasing in Victoria
I know of these because I am involved in most of them, but I would appreciate your input on any other projects (contact details of people involved would be good too!) I could address in this paper. Leave a comment on this entry with any suggestions you may have. Thanks!

Once again, congratulations Michelle.
How about the library unconference coming up at Yarra Plenty..and being planned for WA too?
There are some interesting things happening in Queensland academic libraries, like ICE..not library specifically, although it is dovetailing into the RUBRIC project. The QULOC web page would have info.
Yarra Plenty online learning, their involvment in the PMLC 23 things program?
I ran a Library 2.0 immersion program for staff at Murdoch University library June to August this year, MULTA, using a tikiwiki content management system.

Hey Michelle, I’m going to CIL too from Halifax, Canada. Look me up when you are there! I’ll see if I can find you (and your presentation) as well.
