Introducing the LINT 5 LINTerviews

Posted February 9th 2007 @ 8:23 pm by Kathryn Greenhill

Welcome to the LINT5 LINTerviews.
Have you ever met someone in libraryland and thought “I wonder what makes her tick?”. We have. We decided to find our favourite or most interesting library people and ask them questions about what has influenced their time in libraries.
To give our interviewees some choice, we send them a list of [...]

Are your comments being eaten?

Posted February 3rd 2007 @ 7:33 pm by Kathryn Greenhill

Have you made a comment on this blog which didn’t ever show up? We’d like to know.
You know all those ads for viagra and breast enlargments and hot stockmarket tips you get in your email boxes? Well, blogs get them too, in the form of comment spam. Nasty little spambots volley these at our blog [...]

Meet VLINT

Posted November 27th 2006 @ 11:20 pm by Kathryn Greenhill

The Thali is bringing you another blog: Virtual Librariesinteract.info:blog central for Australian Libraries in Other Worlds .

It started as a place to record the nuts and bolts of the Australian Libraries in Second Life project, so LINT wouldn’t get flooded. The scope grew to include Australian libraryfolks’ adventures in virtual worlds such as World [...]

Improvements to the Australian Library Blog Search

Posted November 13th 2006 @ 8:30 am by techxplorer

In a recent post Peta outlined some of the new things that had been happening here on LINT. Recently I improved the Australian Library Blogs search and enabled it as an OpenSearch plugin.
What does this mean?
It means that you can search the list of Australian Library Blogs without visiting the website first. Those of us [...]

Wanted - blogging directors

Posted November 8th 2006 @ 4:27 pm by Peta Hopkins

Michael Stephens wants them, Laura Cohen wants them, and LINT wants them too. Librarians want to hear what their leaders think about the profession. Our offer still stands.
If you are a library director who would like to write occasionally but not want to manage a whole blog, why not register as a contributor here on librariesinteract.info? — [...]

Posted November 7th 2006 @ 8:45 pm by Peta Hopkins

Have you checked out our list of Australian Library blogs recently? That link top right of every page on this site…. Thanks to Corey we now have a custom Google search so that you can search across all the Australian library blogs we have listed there. He even figured out how we could get the [...]

Being way too 2.0

Posted October 30th 2006 @ 4:43 pm by Kathryn Greenhill

PROBLEM
I’m being a little bit too 2.0 right now.
A hallmark of 2.0-ness is admitting to users when you stuff up. I stuffed up.
I was trying to discreetly change my identity on lint from “Librarian Kathryn” and “Sirexkat” to “Kathryn Greenhill” - with no comment or attention. (Here’s why if you’re interested). When I [...]

Put yourself on the map

Posted September 2nd 2006 @ 10:04 am by Peta Hopkins

I think I can safely say that the Thali are all enjoying the experience of collaborating on this blog, exploring new ideas, learning and building an online community of (mostly) Australian (mostly) librarian bloggers. I’m amazed at how quickly this blog is capturing an audience with our subscriber numbers increasing and links coming into [...]

What’s the THALI??

Posted August 20th 2006 @ 2:11 pm by Kathryn Greenhill

You’ve probably noticed that we’ve decluttered our sidebar a bit. (Thanks Peta).
We’ve added a “From the Thali” section for notes from us to you. For example:

we’re holding our blogathon now (aiming for one blog post every 30 mins. Missed the event held in July this year).
the blog will be unavailable this morning due to maintenance.
we’ve [...]
