Fortunately, most librarians have a very high threshold before they get to the punching on the nose stage. This is a key aptitude for librarians as there are few jobs now where a librarian will not have to rely heavily on computer systems.
"The ultimate metric that I would like to propose for user friendliness is quite simple: if this system was a person, how long would it take before you punched it in the nose ?" — Tom Carey.
Would love to hear any punching on the nose stories from the library trenches, but please protect identities. What did you learn from the incident?
