Expect an explosion of (great?) content on Australasian library blogs this month.
Over on Twitter, Con Wiebrands, librariesinteract Thali member and blogger at Ruminations, has thrown down the gauntlet. Following the example of Stephanie at There She Goes she asked the question:
“am going to try to blog everyday for the month of June. any bloggers care to take up the challenge?”
Four or five Australian library bloggers have committed to do this already. So far Con is Blogging Thankfully and Kate at Virtually a Librarian seems to have put the future of her blog on the line – hoping this will either revitalize it or her blog will be “no more”. We expect to see film reviews from snail.
Want to join in?
There is no need to register or anything, but how about people who are challenging themselves to do this pop their name, blog name and post where they announce that they are doing it in the comments here so we can keep track and share.
On Twitter we decided there are no rules to this. One blogger will only be doing weekdays. On my blog, Librarians Matter, I want to aim not to have any posts that are primarily link posts of the “I saw this interesting post today, here it is” variety … I’m aiming for “think posts” where I at least give a thought or opinion. If you are setting your own rules or variations, that would be nice to know in the comments here too.
I am setting myself another challenge – at least 30 comments in 30 days, and hopefully more. Even if you don’t blog, how about you get involved by trying this challenge and jumping into conversations on some of the blogs below? There should be plenty to choose from.
UPDATE: We are using the hashtag on Twitter #blogeverydayofjune .

well I’m in with my personal blog so it won’t all be librarianship and deep thinking but given it has been so quiet on my blog it might rejuvenate the whole thing for me.
Will check back to see who signs up!

I’ll give it a go on my blog … Can’t say if there will be much library related…will depend on my mood of the day.

I’m a librarian who blogs, rather than someone who blogs about libraries, so mine is on anything that takes my fancy at the time.

I’m in! Last year I managed to write an advent calendar post for every day of December. It was challenging sometimes, but also liberating because I didn’t have time to ponder endlessly over blog post topics
I’ll do my first post tonight …
My blog’s here: http://www.sallysetsforth.com

I’m in Kathryn. Though my challenge is not to get too caught up in my think posts – I have more of those incomplete in drafts than ever get published.

I’m in – maybe I can just publish all my draft posts, one day at a time !

I am in. I may need help though

Okay – I’m in. My first post is here: 30 posts in 30 days. My variation is to try 30 comments in 30 days and to do think posts rather than link posts …. in fact, I may just work my way down the list here with my comments, so I guess I’m off to chat on Penny’s blog

Ok I’ve started up a new blog as I’ve been meaning to and this has given me impetus – again, I’m a librarian blogging, but not necessarily about libraries. In fact, libraries are more likely in passing.

Since I’ve managed a ‘creep post a day since 28/6/22008, this should be a doddle. Count me in.
Probly nothin bout liberries tho. Leave that to my other blog.

There is now a separate post listing blogs taking part in the 30 posts in 30 days challenge. Thanks to Sally at Sally Sets Forth for making the list.

I’m in! Started yesterday and have so many ideas! I’m really excited and a little bit obsessed already. I can’t stop checking twitter (more than usual) and reading everyone’s posts. I’ve already commented on two posts today. This is going to be one prolific month!

Only 30 posts in a month????
