Sue Hutley writes at the ALIA Board blog to encourage members to vote in the Board election. Sue reports that the member survey in 2008 had around 1000 responses of which 83% indicated they would use online voting if it was available. Well it is, and it’s easy – I know, I’ve voted.
But as of 2nd of April only 461 members had voted online. Don’t waste this opportunity to have a say in the make up of your professional association’s board. Voting closes 5pm on Thursday the 9th.
“Take a look at the Candidates http://www.alia.org.au/governance/elections/2009/ and also the Frequently Asked Questions on how to vote. (…) All enquiries can be directed to the Australian Election Company by phoning the AEC Helpdesk telephone number 1800 224 420 “

I was so pleased to see online voting added this year. But I did find the process a little confusing – the email went to an old address and was marked as spam. So if you didn’t get the email, check other addresses and your spam folder first!
I hope many more will vote online, it is so much easier than working out which envelope goes with which form etc etc
