Posted February 4th 2009 @ 12:07 pm by

ALIA will be making a joint submission with CAUL and other library organisations to the  Digital Economy Future Directions Consultation Paper.

All members - including those who attended ALIA Information Online and heard Senator Conroy invite us to make a submission - are asked to submit any comments, case studies and suggestions relating to the Digital Economy Future Directions Consultation Paper http://www.dbcde.gov.au/communications_for_business/industry_development/digital_economy

Please email comments to Jane Hardy [email protected]
at ALIA National Office by Monday 9th February 2009.

Consultation topics include:

1. Open access to public sector information

2. Digital confidence

3. Developing Australia’s knowledge and skills base

4. Ensuring Australia’s regulatory framework enables the digital economy

5. Digital economy and the environment

6. Measuring the digital economy and its inputs

Member contributions are welcome as a part of ALIA’s advocacy work.  Remember, ALIA is its members.  It is only with its members valuable support, input and expertise, that submissions such as this can truly represent the interest of the members and can be more effective by presenting actual case studies.

Reproduced with minor adaptations from a message from Sue Hutley, Executive Director, ALIA.
