It’s on again, applications to attend Aurora in 2009 opened on Monday, 15 Sept 2008. Most comments I’ve heard suggest this a great learning opportunity, and particularly beneficial for those with leadership aspirations. ALIA has maintained a list of testimonials.

I went to an Aurora some years ago and had a fantastic time however I do worry about all the testimonials I read that say you will have a “life changing” or “emotionally draining” week.
Don’t let comments like these put you off, I didn’t learn anything particularly new about myself but what I did find the best thing about Aurora was the chance to meet and chat with the mentors who are leaders in the library profession. This was a unique opportunity to discuss your own directions in libraries, seek help or ideas and learn about the paths others had taken to reach where they were today.
I would definitely recommend the experience to others.
