In time for Library Week, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has launched a new information pack for public library staff, aimed at assisting them to promote safe internet use in-house, with a particular focus on children.

Created with consultation from ALIA and staff from public libraries, the pack includes:

This pack supplements the resources available through the ACMA website: Cybersmart Kids Online, including research reports, education projects, safety publications on a range of topics, a mobile phone guide, a cybersafety outreach program and a complaints hotline.

I am awaiting my library’s pack with interest.

More information can be found at Net Alert and Cyber Smart Kids Online.
