If you read library blogs - well, other than librariesinteract.info - you may have wondered what some of these library bloggers look like.
Cindi Trainor made a series of portraits of librarians while she was at the recent Computers in Libraries conference in the US. Recent visitors to Australia, Michael Stephens and Helene Blowers , are there.
You can also check out the Sarah Houghton-Jan ( the Librarian in Black) , Meredith Farkas (Information wants to be free), Ryan Deschamps (the Other Librarian) , John Blyberg (blyberg.net), David Lee King (davidleeking.com) and Michael Porter (Libraryman) … and a whole host of others…
Even if you don’t know any of the names, the portraits are worth looking at because they are just great images.

Very poignant pictures - Cindi has done a great job and its great to be able to put faces to names, or to see the faces of people you know, again.

Thanks for that, Kathryn, I’ll go have a look for K.G. Schneider.

What I really love, besides having photos of my colleagues and friends all in one place, is that there is no stereotypical looking librarian in the bunch. It is a fantastic series. I hope she will some day be able to add your photo to the collection, Kathryn.

genevieve - No photo of Ms Schneider. However, not to disappoint, here’s her current favourite photo of herself:

Connie. After watching everyone twitter the conference and how much FUN everyone was having, I want to come over in person and join in next time. Don’t think it will happen, but I can hope.

Kathryn, I would be happy to come to you! I have always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand. Better start saving my pennies…

Now, there’s a thought. The LIANZA conference in October in New Zealand has an official Comics Laureate . Maybe we could fix up a Portrait Laureate for one of our conferences.
Anyone involved with Information Online 2009 reading this?
