Library folk in NSW are getting their leathers together for a bike ride in October (18 to 21) from Engadine to Kiama. “A fun filled few days where librarians across the state get together to visit rural libraries to generate publicity and have some fun.” A chance to visit a bunch of libraries, hang out with fellow bikers, and enjoy the open road. [Update: moved to Nov 8-11]

Are you going to the turismo ?? I think the logistics of me getting a bike there are hard, but would love to come…mmmm what to do.
GP is also on the week before when I will also be taking a little time off work. Do you go to GP?

Not actually going myself, I don’t seem to have owned a bike for several years alas
I keep getting tempted to get one, every time one overtakes me, or I’m driving in the country, or just because. I like the look of Ducati’s current crop, though I tend to be partial to the old BMW K100RTs 
or a kwaka.

Yes, Dukes are nice, I have a yellow duckling, Ducati Monster and it’s a very kind bike. Ooooh, lots of grunt in a Beamer like that. And Kwakas and nice and sturdy. You could prob pick one up in Syd for a good price.
Maybe we should go as the pillions…?? That would ensure more people would be able to get along. I’d have to see where I can hook up with it / the tour, if I flew to Sydney and made my way down. At the moment, the logistics look a bit hard…mmmmm

The pillioning idea is a good one and I am tempted by this. I used to work for NSW.net, the NSW Public Libraries Consortium and would probably know some of the folk going. Plus I have a soft spot for public library work having worked in one for a few years. However, I seem to be having some back pain at the moment, so don’t want to commit myself to anything too strenuous for a while.

Seems the excuse not to come, is no bike or bad back. I really do need a few cars as support, to take photos, ring ambos if an accident and maybe carry some gear.
