ticTOCs Project

I’m looking forward to developments in this project. Its aims are to enable academics and researchers to make better use of RSS feeds from a growing number of journals, facilitate re-use of aggregated journal table of contents data, enable libraries to embed journal TOC feeds into a free personalised web-based interface and to encourage the standardisation of TOC RSS feeds .  This is a JISC project.

Good description Peta, and thanks for mentioning ticTOCs. ticTOCs also want to make the process of access to journal TOCs as simple as possible for academics. They will not need to understand what RSS is, etc, in order to use ticTOCs.

Re-use of TOC feeds, and also aggregations of TOC feeds, could involve display in departmental or research group websites, in gateways, or wherever they might be useful.

We hope publishers will appreciate better access to their latest material as well.
