Pew/Internet have created a short quiz (couple of minutes to complete), to help you discover what type of technology user you are. Is technology getting way too much for you, or can’t you get enough of it. Take their “Where do you fit” quiz and find out.
Thanks to the Free Range Librarian for the heads up on this one.
And me? I’m an omnivore. Straight from the results page:
Omnivores make up 8% of the American public.
Basic Description
Members of this group use their extensive suite of technology tools to do an enormous range of things online, on the go, and with their cell phones. Omnivores are highly engaged with video online and digital content. Between blogging, maintaining their Web pages, remixing digital content, or posting their creations to their websites, they are creative participants in cyberspace.
But according to their results, I should be male and under 30! Ah well, can’t get it right all the time!

Hmmm perhaps unsurprisingly, I’m an omnivore too. I’m always online and text incessantly. Yet, I dislike being too available; I like to be able to switch off and disconnect for a while. I don’t do anything with video online, rarely watching it, nor do I remix digital content. I’m not under 30 either. Amusingly for me at least, blogging and maintaining my website are the same thing

And I’m an omnivore as well. I am the median age, but not the dominant gender
I watch most TV online, I remix digital content, but I like Snail, like times to disconnect.

I’m a Connector, folks. I’m the right age and gender. I think it’s becuase I refused the cell phone implant at the same time as they grafted the keyboard to my fingertips.

I’m an omnivore too, wrong gender, wrong age. I refused the cell phone implant like Kathryn.

Omnivore too, but yeh I disconnect and enjoy the quiet from time to time too. I’m in the market for a new mobile (current one has started to blue-screen on me!) and pondering what PDA/phone/GPS model to get

Interesting discussion going on over on Walt’s page, particularly with regard to the actual categories eg lacklustre veteran vs omnivore vs connected but hassled. If the t-shirt idea for “Lacklustre Veteran” gets off the ground I want one but only if it’s “Lacklustre” and not “Lackluster”

Of course it has to be lacklustre – got to be proper English! Actually, being bloggers and aware of the cutting edge at most times, we could all be categorised as lacklustre veterans!
