Posted July 28th 2006 @ 2:23 pm by tango

The travelling Infosciences Carnival #48 will be coming to Connecting Librarian in the week starting August 7th. If there is something that you think should be aired more widely, please send it to me at [email protected]. Submissions close Sunday 6th August at 12.oo midnight (which is sometime Sunday morning UK time and sometime Saturday night US time.)

The land down under is looking forward to this international journey of the Carnival, so please help make it special.

For the benefit of those who might not be familiar with the concept of a blog carnival, this is a weekly (or fortnightly, or monthly) event that travels around from blog to blog, a sort of virtual carnival showcasing the weird and wonderful world of library folks in the blogosphere. The hosting blogger usually volunteers to host the carnival on his/her blog, and advertises it.

Other bloggers take note, write posts to submit as “exhibits” at the carnival, then email the host to let her/him know so the post can be described and featured on the host blog.

The Carnival of the Infosciences has been running for quite some time: visit the Carnival’s wiki if you would like to explore previous carnivals, or volunteer to host a carnival on your own blog! (I’ve done it before on my personal blog; it is good fun, you get to find out about interesting posts and blogs, and you get exposure for your own blog!
