NLS2006 8 days away: Not too late to register!
It is now 8 days to go until NLS2006! Here are some last minute things to consider before the big event:
If you haven’t registered to attend NLS2006, don’t despair. You can still register and be part of the event people will be talking about for months later. Sign up now!
This is a good time to visit the “Tips & Tricks” page, especially for first time conference delegates, so you can get advice to help you with your first conference experience.
- There are still some places left in the resume review. This is a good opportunity for you to get feedback from a reviewer with industry experience.
- Get skilled in marketing information services! Register for the satellite event “Marketing information services: starting out, starting up“. You will learn practical strategies and increase your knowledge in marketing services and resources to your clientele.
- If you haven’t already done so, now is the time to sign up to the NLS forum. You can make your music requests to the DJ for the dinner on Saturday night, comment on the programme and web papers available at, start up a thread to find out who in your region will be attending the symposium, and any other topic you would like to communicate with the group.
- On day 1, the ‘Aspects of Leadership’ panel will explore all aspects of leadership, from being a leader in a prominent role to leading from the bottom up. Have you got a question about gaining leadership skills, how to be a recognised leader, or you would like to clarify what leadership means to you? Contact Programme Coordinator Fiona Bradley (remove nospam)with your questions or leave a comment below. They will be answered on the day by our panel which includes leaders in our profession from a range of backgrounds and experience.
- For those wanting some extra memorabilia, NLS2006 T-shirts are available for sale. They are available in both men’s and women’s sizes. Place an order quickly as there is only a small quantity of T-shirts available in each size.
The committee is looking forward to meeting you at NLS2006 next week!
