Tom, looks like a lot was covered in the session - which is why your summary is so great! I particularly enjoyed the link to the "9 key characteristics of millenials" research. I was curious about the first point "format agnostic". I've found the opposite in many ways - if an article isn't online, then they won't track it down and use it. I *wish* they were more format agnostic!

really enjoyed this snapshot of the future for libraries. I particularly identified with the needs of the milennials, and the challenge of convincing some of those 50+ library staff that we need to change, not the milennials. The 9 key characteristics of Millennials are right on the button!!! thanks for providing this summary, like fran m, I found it inspiring.

theres no one i'd rather read on new technology and the great things people are doing with it but a few quibbles: technology and libraries...(academic libraries) as large bureacratic institutions change in that area comes slowly if at all...as i read somwehere...arent libraries still having hassles with their vendor supplied opacs etc? and institutional repositories are a great idea but the take up isnt as quick as hoped? I love millenials, they are fun but from experience not all of them are as into technology as you might think....but an inspiring big picture synopsis, thanks!
